British Columbia Orchid Societies Show Flower Classes [revised May 2004]Note: classes may be combined if low registration, but the numbering will not be altered on the list. Therefore there can be gaps in the class numbers ie. 1.1, 1.2, 1.4, 1.5. If needed classes could be added to the schedule at the end of each class.
1. British Columbia Orchid Societies, Suggested Show Trophy List The trophies available for displays and the type of display each will be awarded to are chosen by the hosting societies and could include, among others not listed here: 1) The Canadian Orchid Congress Show Trophy, sponsored by the C.O.C. Its interpretation is up to each individual society affiliated with the C.O.C. 2) The American Orchid Society Show Trophy, sponsored by the hosting society and only awarded at an A.O.S. approved show. 3) The Orchid Digest Corporation Show Trophy, sponsored by the hosting society and available to O.D.C. affiliated societies. 4) Usually a trophy named after the hosting society 5) A trophy for Best Visiting Society 6) Individual medals (gold, silver, bronze), for all displays qualifying. 7) Best Overall Plant in Show: The Grand Champion

Best Other Orchid related exhibits, classes 13.11 – 13.12 Not all of these trophies must be awarded. If there are not sufficient entries or the quality of the entries is not high enough the trophies may be withheld. Also when publishing the show schedule a society will list the possible trophies to be awarded as being offered on the program. After consulting with the show chair, the judges may award, at their discretion, additional Special Trophies if they feel that any part of any exhibit is deserving of this.
